EasiYo was born in 1992 by an inventive Kiwi dad who wanted to make it easy for families to enjoy the goodness of homemade yogurt.
School teacher and father to eight kids (yes, eight!) he needed plenty of nutritious food to feed his growing family. The problem was, some of the store bought yogurt was full of preservatives, questionably fresh and with eight mouths to feed, cost him a small fortune.
He knew homemade yogurt was the solution. However, at the time making your own yogurt was a messy, hit-and-miss exercise. There were no simple yogurt making systems available. So what did he do? Create one of course!
He headed down to the family’s garden shed where he set about finding an easier way to make fresh yogurt. Being a physics teacher probably helped, but even so, it took him years to develop a system that made perfect, fresh, yummy yogurt every single time. It was easy. It was delicious. It was EasiYo!
EasiYo was officially launched at the Auckland Home Show. From these humble beginnings, EasiYo soon became a much-loved Kiwi brand and international success, and is now enjoyed in homes all over the world.
While we’ve grown, our history is still at the heart of who we are today. We still do what we do because we want to make it easy for everyone to feel good about homemade. To feel the pride and satisfaction of making your own delicious yogurt from scratch and the joy of sharing it with your family.
