Forage & Ferment is a boutique fermentary in Clevedon, NZ. We harness the magic of naturally hardworking microbes to create real food that is bursting with local flavour and goodness.

We select the freshest vegetables we can get our hands on - sourcing as much directly from responsible local growers. And we forage wild edibles and healing herbs from our home garden farmacy. We use every edible part of the ingredients we can; distributing what we don’t use around our community, feeding local chooks, pigs, worm farms and compost bins.

  The ethics of permaculture run deep in our culture - Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share are at the heart of everything we do. We favour local growers, sustainable foraging, NZ sea salt, glass jars and no plastic in our fermentation process. Because we believe this makes a difference to the quality of our ferments and to Mother Earth.

  We are proud supporters of the New Zealand Bumblebee Conservation Trust (NZBCT) and Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust (MBNZT). Bumblebees are super pollinators and essential for food production; and together with moths and butterflies add to biodiversity.
